Alexia Kalaitzi

Αλεξία ΚαλαϊτζήShe wrote (articles, programs, press releases) and making documentaries and sometimes she travels around the Balkans.

Born and raised in Thessaloniki, she has studied Journalism and Mass Communication in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and theatre in Drama School of "Vasilis Diamantopoulos". As journalist, she has worked for local newspapers and magazines, for Flash Radio station, and for TV Chanel "SKAI". Motivated by her passion about New Media, she has created the Greek edition of the world news website, Global Voices Online, for which she still works as author and volunteer translator. Her first experience in youth projects was "Blind Dates" project, which was about the creation of a blog and web radio by visually impaired people, living in Thessaloniki. Being in love with journalism, Art and Human Rights, in United Societies of Balkans she found her actual home, where she can combine all her passions and share them with young people from Greece and Europe. In the organization, she works as Press Officer and responsible for implementation of projects.

The most important thing she has learnt from her collaboration with USB is that the change we all are seeking for, is actually in our hands and it can only come if we all try united to make our small society better, by giving life to our dreams.
