Creativity for women and children inclusion

"Creativity for women and children inclusion" is a volunteering project financiated by the European Solidarity Corps program of the European Union. The project aims to promote solidarity and involve youth for the empowerment of women and the education of children, with a focus on vulnerable groups in Thessaloniki. The project has been thought to foster the use of the creativity of youth to implement activities to promote the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.  It consists in two main activities with two hosting organisation that obtained the Quality Label in September 2019, "Intervolve - International Volunteers" (Intervolve) and "Schedia stin Poli Kallitexniki Omada" (Schedia stin Poli).

The first activity sees participants supporting women at "Irida" Women's Centre, a community centre for women of all nationalities and backgrounds, managed by Intervolve in Thessaloniki. The centre has as the grand majority of beneficiaries refugee, migrant and asylum-seeking women and their children and provide a safe space of expression, workshops to gain skills, intercultural events and children care while women are attending workshops.
The second activity sees participants supporting Sxedia stin Poli in activities for children, youth and disadvantaged groups. They implement creative programs such as storytelling, creative writing, puppet theatre, recycling, art and comics, intercultural games, in children’s libraries, villages, organisations, youth centres, institutions for people with disabilities, refugee centres and other places to reach vulnerable groups.
