This was my first project of this nature (multicultural and multinational). I was already informed about such projects and my expectations were already high. Despite that, the actual experience far exceeded my initial expectations. I attribute this to two main factors;
The first one is the methods utilized to complete the work required from us. The project was much more interactive that I thought it would be. It really attracted our attentions and engaged us in the whole process. It made you aware that you actively contribute to the final result. The knowledge, that he (personally) affected the “shape” of the final product and he left his “mark” on it, truly brigs joy to anyone (even more so, when object of the collective endeavor is such as of this project!)
The other factor which made the experience ever so special is the other participants. The atmosphere and the other participants were easy to get close to. Everyone was co-operative and through our collective effort we managed to get very close to each other. The fact that we were a group of people from different cultural backgrounds made the experience much more interesting.
Needless to say that this project taught me a lot about prejudices and stereotypes (in general) and the difficulties that some people (like young Roma) are facings, as well as possible methods to tackle them.
All and all, the project was much better than I thought it would be and it constitutes a cherished memory of mine.
