Off the trial

We recently concluded the "Off the trial" project, coordinated by the Furora Foundation. The project aimed to equip 36 young individuals, characterized by a lower level of self-efficacy than their peers, with tools and skills to actively participate in social life, enhance their sense of agency, and find inner balance through mindfulness techniques.

The main objectives of the project were centered around three key axes:

  1. Strengthening Participants' Self-Awareness: A primary goal was to provide participants with tools for a deeper understanding of their emotions and better regulation of responses to challenges. Mindfulness techniques, such as mindful meditation and breathing exercises, were crucial as they foster concentration and presence skills, fundamental for effective stress management and life direction in both professional and personal spheres. 

  1. Development of Interpersonal Skills: Another vital aspect of the project was enabling participants to acquire and refine skills essential in the job market and everyday life, such as effective teamwork, efficient time-pressured performance, adaptation to changing conditions, and innovative problem-solving approaches. Integrated workshops and group simulations were designed to allow participants to practice and enhance these skills in a controlled yet realistic environment, contributing to their better preparation for the challenges of the modern job market.

  1. Emphasizing Individuality and Developing Planning and Implementation Skills: Another objective was to support participants in deeper self-discovery - identifying their strengths, values, and interests, and defining life goals along with strategies for achieving them. These activities aimed to contribute to increased effectiveness in planning and executing both professional and personal actions, enabling participants to build a career path aligned with their individual predispositions and aspirations.

A key element of the project was a youth exchange that took place from June 15-25, 2023, in Murzasichle. During the exchange, participants engaged in various mindfulness activities such as guided meditations, mindful breathing exercises, and reflective practices. These activities were designed to help participants cultivate self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and a sense of presence in the moment. This experience was a turning point for many participants, helping them adopt a new approach to perceiving the present moment and integrating mindfulness into their daily lives.
