Empowering youth in the fight against Disinformation

My participation in the Empowering Youth Against Disinformation program was a unique opportunity for me. As a student of Journalism and Media Studies, I felt that the project took me beyond the narrow confines of academic theory, thanks also to the excellent organization of the organizers who had foreseen every detail. The methodological tools we developed for critical decoding proved to be extremely useful, giving me a clear toolbox for crisscrossing news. I return with a much more global, international perspective on how we should approach information in the digital age.

My participation in the “Empowering Youth in the Fight Against Disinformation” program was a unique opportunity, especially since it was my first Youth Exchange. As someone who uses the internet daily, I felt that the project helped me look beyond the surface of what I read online, thanks also to the excellent organization of the coordinators, who made me feel safe from the very beginning.
The methodological tools we developed proved to be extremely useful, giving me a clear toolkit for identifying fake news. I return from this first journey with a much broader and more international perspective on how we should approach information as responsible digital citizens.

My experience in Cyprus was simply incredible! As a journalism student, the disinformation program gave me practical tools that you don't easily find in books. This experience gave me a new, international perspective on journalism and the necessary tools to deal with disinformation on a daily basis.
