My participation in the purple glasses program: facilitating women’s empowerment in Spain, was an unforgettable experience !.
In terms of the practical part of the program, we learned through non-formal education, methods that can help empower women, and gender equality in the workplace and in our community. We also shared with the other participants information about the situation of gender equality in our country, and were informed about their own countries respectively. We learned from each other's experiences, agreed and disagreed on various issues with respect to dialogue.
In many of the activities we were invited to contribute with our creativity and imagination something that was very enjoyable. I made many acquaintances from different countries, some of these acquaintances became friendships that made the days of the program flow like water. Together we stole a glimpse of Basque culture, ate their delicious food, which by the way is very similar to Greek, danced, and had a lot of fun ..
It was a fantastic week, in my opinion, every sociable, active and "curious" young person should live. For me it was the first and not the last. The Basques taught us one word and I will be left with ‘Eskerrik asko’.
