Our participation was an important opportunity to delve deeper into the trauma-informed approach and explore ways in which we can create safer, more inclusive and supportive environments for young people who have experienced difficult or traumatic experiences. Through non-formal education, practical exercises, real-life cases and exchange of experiences, we acquired new knowledge and tools that can be used both in supporting volunteers and in our daily work in the field of international mobility.
Beyond the learning dimension, the experience in Velletri gave us the opportunity to meet youth workers from different European countries, exchange good practices and create new contacts and potential collaborations.
We returned to USB with new ideas, a greater understanding of the importance of psychological safety in working with young people and practical approaches that we can transfer to the actions, mobilities and support of the organization’s volunteers.
