On the first week of October 2021 we had the chance to meet in Palermo for a V for volunteers project. It was a training For coordinators of volunteers which included organizations from different countries from all over Europe. Personally I had no idea of what a coordinator does. My mentor told me that it was a good opportunity for me to participate in this training because I am interested in about organizing and preparing different events and I also have communication skills.

From the first day I was fascinated with how many and how different the people participating in this project were. There were people from 10 teams all over Europe, and as we found out later, they had such interesting and diverse backgrounds. After the first day, when we got to know each other, we started discussing a variety of topics, like narratives and bias (how they are formed and how we can tackle them), racism, sexism, homophobia, stereotypes and many more. It was very interesting to see the approach everyone took about how to tackle these issues.
