The “Balkan heArt” project was a follow-up initiative to a previous activity focused on LGBTQI+ rights, further strengthening efforts toward equality and inclusion in the Balkan region. The project used art as a powerful tool to raise awareness and advocate for human rights.
Specifically, the project aimed to increase awareness of LGBTQI+ rights while promoting intercultural dialogue and creative expression. Through artistic activities, participants explored social issues and highlighted the challenges faced by LGBTQI+ communities across the Balkans.
The project brought together 50 young participants from 10 different countries, creating a multicultural environment of collaboration and exchange. This international dimension enhanced networking opportunities and supported the development of joint initiatives with social impact.
Participants were trained in five different forms of art: theatre and dance, photography, web radio, shadow theatre, and painting. Through these creative processes, they developed artistic skills and used art as a means of social change and the promotion of equality.
