United Societies of Balkans, as co-head of the Anna Lindh Network in Greece, participated in the international initiative “Creative Entrepreneurship, Active Citizenship: Opportunities for EuroMed Youth,” organized by the Anna Lindh Foundation in collaboration with “Thessaloniki: European Youth Capital 2014.” The activity took place in Thessaloniki from September 26 to 28, aiming to provide training and networking opportunities for young people from across the Mediterranean region.

The initiative was developed in response to the social and economic challenges faced by youth in Mediterranean countries during the economic crisis. Organizers identified that shifting political and economic conditions had led to increased unemployment, limited opportunities, and the rise of social issues such as racism and xenophobia.

Within this context, the project focused on promoting youth entrepreneurship and active citizenship, emphasizing the development of new skills and motivations. A total of 65 participants from Mediterranean countries took part in the activity, including 15 from Greece, fostering a diverse and collaborative learning environment.

Participants were trained through interactive and participatory methods on topics related to entrepreneurship, innovation, and social engagement. The project enabled them to develop and implement creative ideas, helping them respond to challenging economic conditions while positively contributing to their local communities.

The U.S.B. carry out educational, social, and volunteer mobility and youth-empowerment programs. Their goals are social inclusion, the creation and support of a network of active citizens, and improving their quality of life.
