The project “Empowering Youth Participation in EU” was a Youth Democratic Project implemented under the “Youth in Action” programme, aiming to strengthen young people’s participation in the European representative model of democracy. The initiative focused on promoting active citizenship and enhancing young people’s understanding of European institutions.
The project brought together five European Union member states — Greece, Cyprus, Italy, Romania, and Lithuania — and engaged young participants from ten different organizations, fostering a dynamic environment of transnational cooperation and exchange.
Throughout the project, activities such as focus groups, meetings, and intercultural dialogue sessions were implemented. Participants had the opportunity to share perspectives, exchange best practices, and develop skills related to democratic participation and civic engagement.
One of the key outcomes of the project was the publication of the “Guide to European Youth Participation,” developed with the active involvement of all partners. The guide serves as a practical tool to support youth engagement and encourage active participation in European civic life.
