The “EU-VOICE” project aimed to support the social inclusion of third-country nationals and promote interaction between migrants and host communities through a 25-day volunteering experience in the cultural sector. The project was implemented in five European countries with high migration rates (Italy, Greece, Ireland, the United Kingdom, and Austria) and was framed within the European Year of Cultural Heritage, fostering a shared sense of European identity and belonging.

The project developed a multi-sectoral approach based on the exchange of best practices and tools related to the social inclusion of migrants and volunteering in the cultural sector. Through activities such as workshops on volunteering, seminars on active European citizenship, and preparatory training sessions, participants gained valuable skills and knowledge to enhance their participation in society. A key component of the project was the 25-day volunteering experience, which allowed participants to actively engage in cultural activities.

Overall, the project directly involved at least 320 participants, the majority of whom were third-country nationals, while also ensuring gender balance. In addition, approximately 46,000 individuals—including staff members and volunteers from partner organizations—benefited indirectly from the methodologies and tools developed within the project.

Through dissemination and exploitation activities, the project contributed to raising awareness among local communities on intercultural dialogue and volunteering, fostering participation and cooperation among diverse social groups and creating a long-term impact at the European level.

The U.S.B. carry out educational, social, and volunteer mobility and youth-empowerment programs. Their goals are social inclusion, the creation and support of a network of active citizens, and improving their quality of life.
