This project involved the participation of seven young people aged 18–30 with fewer opportunities from Romania, Italy, France, North Macedonia, and Cyprus. The initiative focused on volunteering and social support activities, aiming to promote inclusion, awareness, and youth empowerment within local communities.
Five participants were hosted in Thessaloniki for a period of six months, where they provided support to minors, adolescent migrants, and residents of the hosting facilities of “ARSIS – Social Organization for Youth Support.” Through their volunteer work, they contributed to daily activities, educational support, and social inclusion initiatives targeting vulnerable groups.
At the same time, two participants were hosted for 12 months by “United Societies of Balkans,” where they worked on raising awareness within the local community. Using new media tools, they developed content and acted as citizen journalists, highlighting social issues and promoting active citizenship.
The project focused on supporting migrants, refugees, and young people facing challenging life conditions, such as social exclusion, limited family support, educational barriers, unemployment, or institutional living. Through their involvement, participants engaged directly with the realities of migration and the humanitarian context in Greece.
Overall, the project contributed to the development of important life skills, intercultural understanding, and civic engagement, empowering participants to become active members of society and advocates for social inclusion.
