International volunteering programmes under the European Solidarity Corps have been a key driver for youth participation and community development. The “Gothen” initiative was designed to support both emerging organizations and volunteers by addressing their needs for information, guidance, and active engagement in solidarity activities.
The main objective of the project was to empower volunteers by enhancing their skills and providing practical tools. Through this process, participants gained the knowledge needed to contribute more effectively to organizational missions and increase their positive social impact.
At the same time, the project strengthened the capacity of organizations to engage, support, and retain active volunteers. By improving communication and knowledge-sharing, it fostered stronger connections between organizations and volunteers.
The initiative contributed to building a more effective and sustainable volunteering ecosystem, linking personal development with social impact. Overall, the project supported youth empowerment and promoted active citizenship at the European level.
