“Ignoring the Past is Condemning the Future” was a research and educational initiative aimed at producing a documentary on the Nazi period in the Balkans. It focused particularly on the historical experiences of Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, and the former FYROM, highlighting aspects of collective memory and historical awareness.

Through the collection and analysis of materials, the programme sought to contribute to a deeper understanding of the consequences of the past and the importance of historical memory in shaping the future. It also fostered dialogue around critical historical issues and the need to prevent the recurrence of similar phenomena.

The project combined research, storytelling, and creative expression, using multiple formats to disseminate its outcomes. This approach encouraged participation and critical reflection among those involved.

The main outputs of the programme included the production of a documentary, a book, and a blog, which served as tools for raising awareness and sharing knowledge with a wider audience.

The U.S.B. carry out educational, social, and volunteer mobility and youth-empowerment programs. Their goals are social inclusion, the creation and support of a network of active citizens, and improving their quality of life.
