Music Connects Schools in Europe

The project aims to highlight contemporary cultural creation expressed by students from different countries through participation in the music festival of Xanthi "Polis Oneiron" which is considered central to the transmission of cultural heritage and its pursuit. The project aims to achieve tangible and intangible results and interpret how they are intertwined in terms of cultural heritage, striving to achieve a far-reaching effect in terms of acquired musical knowledge, motivation, positive psychological impact and social considerations among the target groups. Specifically, the tangible and intangible goals of the
project are:

  •  Participation of 5 schools in the music festival of Xanthi "Polis Oneiron" at transnational level, representing the countries Greece, Romania, Turkey, Italy and Portugal;
  •  Presentation of 5 live music programs from the respective schools
  • Creation of a recording of the 5 music performances
  • Creation of an online toolkit on the interdisciplinary approach to music teaching in the classroom; the recordings of the music performances will be included in the toolkit, along with a story about each song as a pedagogical tool for learning.
  • In addition, the toolkit will include an exploration of how to spark student interest in curriculum subjects and an analysis of some pedagogical methods for working with music in the classroom.
