The “REST_ART – Raising Environmental Sustainability Through Art” project was an innovative initiative that aimed to promote environmental awareness through the power of art. The project focused on raising awareness within communities and preventing harmful attitudes toward the environment by combining artistic practices with ecological activism.
A key objective of the project was to actively engage the public, with a strong emphasis on including people with fewer opportunities. Through creative activities and participatory approaches, the project promoted social inclusion and strengthened citizens’ connection to sustainability and environmental protection.
REST_ART highlighted the importance of innovative social entrepreneurship and the exchange of best practices among organizations. Its activities particularly focused on plastic waste management, encouraging positive change and sustainable action at the community level.
The project was implemented as an international collaboration between seven organizations from six countries: Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Egypt, and Albania. This transnational partnership enhanced knowledge exchange and contributed to creating meaningful and lasting social impact.
