An Erasmus+ story from Cyprus

In the period from October 22nd to 30th I had the opportunity to be in Cyprus and participate in the program "A new black. Sustainability as a new living paradigm". The main topic of this program was environmental awareness and the integration of environmentally friendly practices into our everyday life. My interest in this was the original reason I signed up after seeing the applications.

My decision to participate was the best I made during this period, as such a program is not just a trip to a foreign country or meeting people from other countries. It is a unique and unforgettable experience that brings you so close to other people (you live with them) as opposed to tourism, while at the same time you analyze a topic that interests you, in this case the environment.

In the program I participated, we stayed in a beautiful mountain village called Pedoulas, where we mainly discussed many key aspects of sustainability and the achievement of sustainable development goals through practices in our daily lives. We had the opportunity to see the city of Limassol, but also to participate in voluntary work (garbage collection in the village and in the surrounding nature). Finally, I met wonderful individuals from abroad, which I consider to be the biggest benefit of a youth exchange program.

I thank the organization United Societies of Balkans for giving me the opportunity to participate, and also the organization YEU Cyprus for organizing it. See you in the next program!
