I would like to share my experience as a participant representing the Greek team and the USB organization. It was an experience that exceeded all my expectations not only enjoyable, but also deeply meaningful and transformative.
From the very first day, the German organization welcomed us with warmth, care, and hospitality, making every effort to ensure we felt comfortable. They hosted us wonderfully and guided us through the most significant parts of Berlin, offering us the opportunity to connect meaningfully with the place and its culture.
Most of the program's activities took place outdoors in parks, squares, and historic sites across the city. This choice enhanced interactivity and allowed us to engage with the local population, creating a pleasant and collaborative atmosphere. We truly felt we were contributing something positive to the city as we worked together in locations of special importance and aesthetic value. During our work, we had the chance to exchange experiences and concerns regarding the issue of road safety both in Thessaloniki and Berlin. Through open discussions and public interventions, we aimed to raise awareness about the importance of safe and inclusive streets. At the same time, we connected with young people from the German organization, who shared their own experiences with us in a direct and friendly way. Through play, creativity, experiential learning, and art, we built strong bonds of communication and cooperation that transcended linguistic and cultural differences. This interaction was not only educational but also deeply human.
Special mention goes to the representatives of the German NGO EGIN, Elma and Mr. Edgert, who enthusiastically guided us through the city. They showed us every corner from the central tourist spots to the more remote and lesser-known neighborhoods. Through this authentic tour, we got to know Berlin in depth not as mere visitors, but as people striving to understand the true essence of the city and its inhabitants.
This journey gave us the opportunity to explore the concept of road safety from a realistic and lived perspective. We walked through areas beyond the city’s “showcase” and observed how public space functions for all people — regardless of age, origin, or social background.
On a personal level, I was fortunate to meet wonderful people and form strong friendships. I interacted with inspiring individuals young people full of ideas, passion, and creativity. Together we had fun, learned, explored, and exchanged ideas and experiences. The bonds we created are precious, and I will carry them with me for a long time. I will certainly make an effort to stay in touch with these amazing people.
In conclusion, my participation in “Streets for All” was much more than just an educational experience. It was a journey of self-awareness, coexistence, and creation. I truly hope that similar programs will continue to take place, offering more young people the opportunity to broaden their horizons both personally and socially.

I was given the opportunity to take part in “Streets 4 all”, a project regarding a plethora of sociopolitical and historical issues organized in the compelling city of Berlin. Overall, the project appeared to be a unique experience full of differing activities focusing on crucial matters ranging from Berlin’s complex history to its contemporary, innovative state. In particular, the participants took part in various activities and workshops which mostly took place outdoors including; walking tours of must-see attractions in Berlin, museum visits, picnics in park settings. I personally relished the historical side of the project and the discussions made in terms of social issues such as gender equality. In addition, it is worth mentioning the practicality of the project since we were able to discover numerous places in Berlin while actively engaging in new information provided by the German team. I was very grateful to participate in this program since I find interest in history, politics, and social issue. Therefore, I carry several vibrant memories from Berlin made with the people I met during this project.
