When Scars (!) Become Art - National Report Greece

We are pleased to publish the Greek National Report developed within the framework of the Erasmus+ project When Scars (!) Become Art.

The report explores the wellbeing and lived experiences of discrimination among marginalized young people in Greece, with a particular focus on Roma, migrant, and refugee youth. Using a mixed-methods approach that combines quantitative data with in-depth qualitative interviews, the study highlights how structural racism, antigypsyism, and social exclusion impact mental health, social connectedness, and life opportunities.

Beyond documenting challenges, the report amplifies the voices of young people and youth workers, identifying concrete needs, gaps in existing support systems, and pathways toward meaningful social inclusion. Its findings underline the urgent need for intersectional, community-based, and rights-focused responses that move beyond symbolic inclusion and address structural inequalities.

This publication contributes to the broader objectives of When Scars (!) Become Art by connecting research, youth work, and artistic expression as tools for healing, empowerment, and social change.
