The “Hayde B.R.R.E” project was a 7-day training course that took place in Thessaloniki, aiming to empower young people in the fields of human rights, social inclusion, and combating homophobia. The initiative focused on developing skills and attitudes that promote inclusion, diversity, and respect.
The training brought together 30 young participants from eight Balkan countries, including Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia, North Macedonia, Croatia, and Greece. This multicultural environment fostered the exchange of experiences and best practices among participants.
Throughout the training, participants gained valuable knowledge and developed skills and attitudes to effectively address homophobia and discrimination. They also engaged in open discussions about the experiences of social acceptance of LGBTQI+ individuals within their local communities, enhancing awareness and empathy.
At the end of the training course, participants proposed and designed future initiatives aimed at mobilizing LGBTQI+ communities in their countries and strengthening volunteer networks. The project played a significant role in promoting equality, social cohesion, and active youth participation across the region.
