The “KaliMerhaba” project was a cross-border initiative led by the Greek youth NGO U.S.B. and the Turkish NGO TREXEVS, aiming to strengthen intercultural cooperation and mutual understanding. The project focused on identifying and promoting shared cultural, linguistic, and social elements between Greece and Turkey.
Particular emphasis was placed on the cities of Thessaloniki and Izmir, two urban centers with strong historical and cultural connections. By exploring their common characteristics, the project highlighted the importance of shared cultural heritage and contemporary urban identity.
The project’s objectives were achieved through the active involvement of a group of motivated young people from both cities, who collaborated closely and built meaningful connections. Participants played a key role in fostering dialogue, exchanging experiences, and shaping a shared narrative.
Initially, participants took part in a media training seminar covering topics such as article writing, photography, video production, and content editing. They then applied their knowledge and skills to document key cultural elements and promote them through the project’s official website, creating engaging digital content with lasting impact.
